Information You Provide
A name, phone number, or address submitted in a search form is sent to the outside provider that supplies results. Collin County Residents Directory does not retain a copy of those searches on its own servers. If you contact us, the information received is limited to what you include in the message and is used to respond.
Information Collected Automatically
Routine hosting logs can include an IP address, browser type, viewed pages, and timestamps. We review aggregated information to operate the service and understand general page use. Cookies and comparable tools may be used for basic analytics or, when applicable, advertising measurement.
How Information Is Used
Information supports site operation, troubleshooting, traffic measurement, and improvements to the reference pages. We do not sell visitor lists or create individual visitor profiles.
External Services and Links
Collin County, Texas, state, library, archive, and third-party services linked here follow their own privacy terms. Their policies control any information submitted on those services. That includes sponsored search results, which are provided by a third party.
When Data May Be Shared
Hosting and support providers process server-log information for us. Analytics or advertising partners may receive the automatic information described above. Data is disclosed when required by valid legal process and not otherwise.
Security and Retention
The service uses an encrypted connection, and logs are retained only for the operational purposes described here. There are no user accounts, passwords, or visitor profiles stored by Collin County Residents Directory that could be exposed.
Visitors Under 18
This service is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor sent information to us, contact us so it can be removed.
Your Privacy Choices
The Texas Data Privacy and Security Act, effective July 1, 2024, gives qualifying consumers rights to access, correct, delete, and opt out of certain processing of personal data by covered controllers. Because Collin County Residents Directory keeps very little visitor information, a request normally involves checking the contact mailbox and server logs and removing what is found. Use the Contact page for a request. The Texas Public Information Act, Tex. Gov’t Code ch. 552, governs access to records maintained by Texas public bodies, not deletion requests to this private reference service. Requests to correct or remove an official Collin County record must go to the custodian that maintains it.
Policy Changes
Updates will appear here when this policy changes. Continued use after an update indicates acceptance of the revised policy.
